Adobe Flash, or simply Flash, refers to both a multimedia authoring program and the Adobe Flash Player, written and distributed by Adobe, that uses vector and raster graphics, a native scripting language called ActionScript and bidirectional streaming of video and audio. Strictly speaking, Adobe Flash is the authoring environment and Flash Player is the virtual machine used to run the Flash files, but in colloquial language these have become mixed: Flash can mean either the authoring environment, the player, or the application files. After doing some research I realized that whether someone in adobe flash or google chrome did a lozzy job and is going to get fired by screwing up their new version. Prevent Chrome from blocking Adobe Flash using allow-outdated-plugins with the easy script I linked to above (How to fix Adobe Flash issue - Mac OSX 10.5.8 users) and continue to using Chrome as though nothing changed,. However, I have just tested the screensaver on OS X Sierra 10.12.1 and it does not appear to be working: I don't get a 'blocked plugin' error, but I only see a series of dots at the top of the screen, and the fireplace never appears. Blocked plug-in in Mac, no fireplace in screensaver It installed successfully using the Open from Finder method as described in one of the queries below. Problem is, when I go to settings, the preview shows 'Blocked Plug-in' and when the actual screensaver does come on, it's a full black screen with just the clock appears. Is there anything I can do to 'unblock' this plug-in and make it work for my Macbook Pro Retina Displace 13' (2015) iOS X El Capitan 10.11.6?
